Sightsavers Middle East
Sightsavers Middle East was registered in the UAE on 10 November 2010. Its purpose in the region is to secure funding for its projects in developing countries and build networks with Middle East based organisations involved in health, education and community development in Africa and Asia.
Sightsavers Middle East is honoured to have as its President in the UAE, H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan who is a successful businessman, politician and philanthropist.

Maria Sabado is a cataract surgeon who trained at Sheikh Zayed Regional Eye Care Centre in The Gambia. She is now working in her native Guinea Bissau, to overcome barriers and bring cataract services closer to the people.
